A Free Family Laundry Day Event

Our Story

The story of Live Laugh Love Laundry began with,

A couple of guys walking the streets of Redding, California, ministering to those that were unsheltered after days of rain.  They were asking, “Is there anything we can do to help you today?”  The response was “All of our stuff is wet, if we could get some help doing our laundry, it would really help.”  That one conversation turned into a monthly event that welcomes people in need to join us.

It reminds me of a conversation that took place in Ventura California with an unsheltered man.  In one particular conversation, a question was asked of him: “How can we come alongside your life in a meaningful way?”  His response was honest and practical. “If I had clean clothes I think people would treat me like a human being.”

One day I asked a young local man who grew up in our town. “What brings you to laundry day today?”  His response was deafening.  His answer was, “It’s the only place where people know my name.”

This is why we do what we do.

We meet at the 1072 Lake Blvd., Redding, CA on the third Monday morning of every month, sign in is 9:30am-12:00pm. Lunch is served around 11:00am Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary! Come have lunch with us Laundry Day and check it out!!
