Debi Bailey-Brown, wife, mother of two amazing daughters, matriarch, social entrepreneur for those in need and executive director of The Refuge Community. Redding resident since 1959, loves family, pickleball, music, dance, NFL 49ers and anything she gets to do with her family. Grandparents were both pastors and church planters in the 1930’s - 1960’s. Her family legacy of faith passes through to her two beautiful, adored grandsons. She is passionate about helping those in need, struggling or addicted, paving a way for them to belong, experience connection and become a self-loving, productive member of the community. She loves to laugh and carries joy.
Joe Lee is a devoted husband and father, known for his humor, compassionate heart and deep love for the Word of God. As a street preacher and Board Treasurer of The Refuge Community, Joe embodies his calling to serve others with unwavering kindness. Joe is the leader for our Live Laugh Love Laundry events, providing free laundry days for those in need and greeting each person with warmth and care. With a career spanning 40 years as an educator, Joe’s dedication to shaping young lives remains evident in his interactions and mentorship. Joe is a veteran and lifelong sports enthusiast—especially loyal to the New York Yankees. Known for his big heart and knack for making others feel seen, Joe is a steadfast presence, always willing to "stop for the one."
